What it is like to be a woman

Following a week of disturbing news in Canada (google ‘Jian Ghomeshi’), I think everybody should know what it is like to walk, even for just one day, in the shoes of a young and attractive woman. (For some compelling commentary about the race politics in the video, see this and this.)

Calgary

I am currently in Calgary for Wordfest, and it’s been great fun to take part in this impressive festival along with such a distinguished group of authors. I am looking forward to my event tomorrow afternoon at the University of Calgary: The Philosopher, Poet and Chief. In advance of the festival, Jacquie Moore of the Calgary Herald polled 11 Wordfest authors on (among other things) the most overrated classic. Want to know which book I picked?

The Canadian publisher of One Hour in Paris, Freehand Books, is based in Calgary, so as an added bonus I finally have had the pleasure of meeting in person Kelsey Attard, the inimitable managing editor of Freehand Books and winner of the 2014 Alberta Publisher of the Year Award. Congrats Kelsey!
