There have been some interesting developments at the University of Ottawa following a number of recent incidents of sexual violence involving University of Ottawa students. President Allan Rock has appointed a task force in response to these incidents, but some students worry the move is a publicity stunt and are planning to host their own “day of reflection” to raise awareness of rape culture both on and off campus.

The president said a priority was to find ways to encourage more men to intervene when they see an attack or to report assaults. “I want every young man in America to feel some strong peer pressure in terms of how they are supposed to behave and treat women,” Mr. Obama said.
